Overview:

The Student Engagement Facilitator plays a crucial role in fostering a dynamic and interactive learning environment at Mathnasium. This individual will help students engage in a variety of fun and educational activities, with a special focus on math games, to enhance their learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Engagement:

Organize and lead calendar activities designed to make learning enjoyable for students
Develop and prepare materials for student activities, ensuring they are engaging and educational
Integrate math games into the curriculum at strategic points to actively involve students in their learning process

Behavior Management:

Assist instructors in managing student behavior and encouraging active participation during lessons
Step in to mediate and redirect when instructors encounter challenges in maintaining student engagement
Take a proactive approach to student safety and positive engagement

Community Outreach:

Represent Mathnasium at various events, explaining our programs and engaging students in math related activities
Promote Mathnasium’s mission and values to the community

Operational Support:

Provide support on the instructional floor, ensuring smooth operation during busy times
Administer student assessments and work with trial students to evaluate their needs and progress
Address the needs of occasional challenging students, providing additional support and guidance
Manage the lobby area, ensuring children are positively engaged after their Mathnasium hour
Take parent messages and answer the phone when the Center Director is otherwise occupied

Qualifications:

Personal Attributes:

Passionate about working with children
Extroverted with a talent for engaging children in educational activities
Calm under pressure and capable of managing challenging situations effectively
Thrive in fluctuating environments (sometimes very busy other times very slow)

Experience and Skills:

Previous experience in early education is a plus
Availability to work during the center’s operating hours. Mon- Thurs 2-7 and Sat 9-12
Strong creative skills
Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills
Experience with coding is beneficial but not required

Compensation: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour

Mathnasium locations are independently owned and operated by franchisees of Mathnasium Center Licensing, LLC ("Mathnasium"). Franchisees are independent business people and not employed by Mathnasium. Thus, each franchisee and each franchisee center is unique and the franchisee is alone responsible for all employment matters in their center.
